Description
The city of Lake Forest gets its name from its lakes and eucalyptus trees. Eucalyptus specifically, emerged after seeds from Australia were planted. Their intended use was for lumber, but that didn’t work due to their twisted and warped texture. As a result, there’s a eucalyptus canopy found in Serrano Park with trees leftover from the early 1900’s.
Picnic tables are located inside the old tree canopy. Bathrooms, three small playground areas, and a shelter are outside the canopy. A horse trail and the naturally flowing Serrano Creek run next to each other along the back perimeter of the park. Hours are from dawn to dusk.
Fee if wanting to reserve
The shelter is currently $50 for residents and $150 for non-residents to reserve for a nine hour period (8am-5pm). Anything over 50 guests requires a special event permit. To inquire about reserving the shelter, call (949) 461-3450 or visit here.
