Description
Natural Environment and History
Santiago Oaks Regional Park is home to numerous coast live oaks; however, their population is lower than historical levels due to recent natural disasters. The area was significantly affected by a fire in 2007, and again in 2017. The most damaging was the 2007 Windy Ridge Fire, which destroyed several centuries-old oaks on the location. Restoration efforts have significantly helped the recovery and are ongoing.
