Preserve Overview
- Origins: Started as a community vegetable garden in 1981, it transitioned to a preserve and became a nonprofit in 1984, focusing on horticulture education.
- Location: The preserve is located within Crown Valley Community Park, behind the amphitheater. You will drive under an arched entrance sign to reach the parking lot. The community center/sports fields are on the other side of the park.
- Size & Features: It is an 18.2-acre preserve, featuring plants from different regions around the world suitable for the local climate.
- Management: The preserve is run by the City of Laguna Niguel.
Facilities and Events
- Events: General events cannot be held within the preserve itself.
- Playground Area (North End): This area can accommodate a child’s party on a first-come, first-served basis. Amenities include:
- Three picnic shelters
- Bathrooms
- Other Rental Areas:
- Another shelter is available near the baseball fields (refer to a photo for exact location).
- The Community Center building has a nice ballroom available for rent.
Fee if wanting to reserve
The preserve itself is non reservable, but the Crown Valley Community Center next to it has spaces many would find aesthetically appealling to rent such as their ballroom, terrace deck, and outdoor amphitheater next to the preserve.
