Summary
After Irvine Regional Park, this might be the second most recognized regional park in the county due to its centralized location and easy-to-remember name. It gets its name from its square shape and being one mile in length on each side. If accessing by vehicle, the park has two entrances, one on Euclid Ave near Warner Avenue, and another at the Edinger Ave/Ward St intersection.
Only about a quarter of the “Mile-Square” is used for the actual park. Other things shared in the space include Mile Square Golf Course, David L Baker Golf Course, and the Fountain Valley Recreation Center and Sports Park. Mile Square Golf Course takes up a little more than half the space. The park has two lakes (one with boat rentals), a soccer field, multiple baseball fields, a campsite, archery range, indoor event venue (Freedom Hall), playgrounds, and three reservable picnic shelters. There is a $5 parking fee on the weekends and a $3 fee during the week. Run by OC Parks. Call (714) 973-6600 for more info.
Fee if wanting to reserve
Based on capacity size, shelters are $100-200/day to reserve. Otherwise they are first come first serve if not already reserved. Visit the OC Parks Make a Reservation Page to reserve.
