Description
A nice urban park good for walks and or picnics with lots of trees for shade. It has a semi-manmade lake known as Talbert Lake, which originally was a natural sump in the 1960’s. The park was modeled to be like Central Park in New York City, so it’s shaped like a rectangle and has access points with vehicle parking on all sides. The Huntington Central Library is on its southside and there’s also a playground and sports fields next to it. The library parking lot is the best place to park for getting to the lakes. There’s another playground on the northside off Slater Ave. The parking lot next to that playground is the second-most used after the library’s, because it provides access to the park’s walkways. The bathrooms are next to the parking lots. Run by the city of Huntington Beach.
