Description
The city of Santa Ana has been largely developed since the 1940’s, but the Heritage Museum has homes dating back to the earlier days when it was very undeveloped. The Kellogg House, originally completed in 1898, was home to the city’s first city engineer. It’s the main feature of the museum. It was relocated to the museum from its original location on Orange Avenue and Walnut Street in 1980. It’s one of the first Victorian styled homes in the county and is open to the public for tours on select weekends. The 12 acre grounds of the museum also includes the John Maag Farmhouse (built 1899, relocated 1981), 3 courtyards, and a trail in the back. Public events are regularly held here in addition to the public museum days. The grounds can also be reserved for private events.
Note: Map navigation directs you to the adjacent school parking lot when navigating to this museum. This is okay because the museum uses this same parking lot for its guests.
