Summary
Hart Park emerged out of the Great Depression in 1934. It was constructed by employees of the Works Progress Administration (WPA), which was a federal agency that provided jobs to the unemployed in the form of public works projects. It’s centrally located and sits on a 56-acre plot of land featuring picnic areas, sports fields, an activity building, pool, and a bandshell for events. It’s the city’s first park. Originally known as Orange City Park, it was renamed William O Hart park in 1964. The pool, bandshell, and horseshoe pit area are original historic structures from the 1930’s. The bandshell and lawn would be good for hosting a public event or large reunion. Call (714) 744-2225 for more info.
