Summary
Estancia Park is the original location of a former cattle ranch that included a ranch style home that was built in 1823. The Diego Sepulveda Adobe, part of the original home, is still standing at this park, although the rest burned in 1961. The adobe can be visited from 12-4pm every 1st and 3rd Saturday each month. Walkways and stairs were installed behind the adobe. These walkways have lots of trees for shade in addition to some seating areas. The side lawn next to the adobe has two picnic tables available to rent with barbeque grills. In front of the adobe is a larger lawn, which is where the park bathrooms are. This park backs to Adams Avenue, a main thoroughfare, so it can get noisier than expected. From the parking lot, the park cannot be seen as it is blocked by hedges. You must take one of the pathways between the hedging to access it. California Historical Landmark #227
