Description
Coastal Peak Park is in the Newport Coast community of Newport Beach, CA. It sits on a hill that’s shared with Crystal Cove State Park’s north end. A long uphill drive is required to get there. The state park trails are on one side of the street and Coastal Peak Park is on the other. Street parking is limited on the weekend due to hikers and mountain bikers also parking there. Spots should still be available in the park’s designated parking lot though. There are no views of the ocean or skyline, but the higher altitude of the park is very noticeable, especially in the large lawn area. Amenities include 2 picnic shelters (with 4 tables in each), a playground, 2 baseball fields, batting cages, a small fitness area, a soccer field (lawn area), a basketball court, and bathrooms next to the parking lot.
Fee if wanting to reserve
Visit the Newport Beach Facility Rentals Page to reserve the shelter. Shelter rental fee is currently $51/hr for city residents and $104/hr for non residents as of August 2025.
