Description
Box Canyon Park is a medium-sized residential park with a spacious field for open play, two playground apparatuses, a picnic shelter, and bathrooms tucked into a hillside. The hillside ascends into the Chino Hills, which continues on for many miles going north. These hills are heavily covered with non-native Spanish Mustard plants. This makes the hills bright yellow in the spring (see photo). Wildlife like snakes can emerge near park benches closest to the hill. The chance probability of this happening is highest during springtime. Run by the city of Yorba Linda.
Fee if wanting to reserve
The picnic shelter is reservable. There are 8 tables total that can hold up to 50 guests. It’s a $60 flat rate from 9am to dusk for city residents and $120 for non residents on the weekends. Shelter can be reserved at no cost on weekdays. Visit https://www.ylreconline.com/ to make a reservation.
