Specific parking and access information
- Parking: Street parking is available at the south end of Mesa Drive, near the dead end.
- Entrance: After parking, continue on foot to the dead end, which serves as the park entrance.
Park Layout and Features
Upon entering the park, a clear path guides visitors through various areas:
- The basketball court is the first feature visible upon arrival.
- A walkway leads down a hill toward the playground area.
- A clear view of the bay is available halfway to the playground, though dense vegetation near the playground itself may obstruct the view.
Bayview Restoration Project
The park’s vegetation is part an ongoing Newport Beach Conservancy’s Bayview Restoration Project.
- Goal: To remove invasive plant species.
- Action: To re-plant native coastal sage scrub.
Community Information
The park is known for being quiet, with few visitors at a single time. The community in which the park is located was annexed to the city from the county in the early 1990s.
