Bayview Park

Bayview Park is a bayside park in Upper Newport Bay in Santa Ana Heights, Newport Beach. The best way to access it is by parking on Mesa Drive and walking to where the street dead ends. This will be the park entrance. The basketball court is the first thing you’ll see. A walkway will take you further down the hill to the playground area. A clear view of the bay appears halfway to the playground. Once at the playground, the vegetation between the playground and the bay will obstruct the view. This separating vegetation is part of Newport Beach Conservancy’s Bayview Restoration Project, which aims to remove invasive plants and re-plant native coastal sage scrub. The park is usually quiet with not many visitors at a single time. The community the park is in was annexed to the city from the county in the early 1990’s.
