Description
The Environmental Nature Center, aka the ENC, was established in 1972. It’s a former dumping grounds that was converted into a gully by students (under teacher supervision) from Newport Harbor High School. There are roughly one mile of shaded trails landscaped into the gully, featuring native California flora throughout. A small museum with nature exhibits is in the main building, which was built in 2008. The main building additionally has a large conference room that can be rented for events. The nature center is only open to the public for casual drop-ins on the weekends from 10am-3pm. Scheduled events or weddings can be attended outside these hours. Check their event page here.
