Description
The Valencia orange is the most commonly found orange in America and holds deep roots in Southern California history. It was cultivated in Los Angeles and first produced commercially in neighboring Orange County, at the R. H. Gilman Ranch in 1875.
The ranch has been home to the Arboretum at Cal State University Fullerton after the school transformed it in 1979. A prominent feature of the grounds is the Heritage House, a late 1800’s doctor’s house that was relocated there.
