Park Amenities and Layout
- Bathrooms
- Basketball court
- Playground
- Soccer and baseball fields (in the back)
Parking Information
On Saturdays, parking may overflow, with cars potentially parked in the red zones, due to organized youth sport activities. The park should have less than average visitor traffic otherwise.
Bonita Creek Trail Access and Information
Before reaching the main park’s parking lot, you will pass a smaller parking lot to the left. The end of that lot has an access path to the Bonita Creek Trail.
- Trail Details: The trail looks like a paved bike path, although pedestrians can also use it. It goes north to Bonita Creek Park.
- Creek Information: Bonita Creek was restored from a concrete channel to a natural creek in 1995, with coastal sage scrub added for wildlife. The creek is normally dry or absent of water unless it rains. In the event of rain, the water flows into the larger San Diego Creek, then eventually to Newport Bay.
Fee if wanting to reserve
The four semi-covered picnic tables closest to the playground are reservable (see photo). For up-to-date pricing, visit the Newport Beach Facility Rentals Page, scroll down to Reservable Picnic and/ or Park Areas, then click the link to their Facility Rentals Packet. Currently, renting two tables at a time in Summer 2025 will cost $51/hr for residents or $104/hr for non-residents.
